Built in the early 1880s the cottages still retain many original features. Situated in one of North Cornwall s most popular areas and within walking distance of the sandy beach of Widemouth Bay ideal for surfers and bathers alike. At the farm you can relax and enjoy the scenery and tranquillity or you are only a short drive to a host of sheltered coves and sandy beaches as well as attractions to suit all tastes which include the steep stepped cobbled streets of Clovelly The Milky Way The Big Sheep Tamar Otter Park and Wildwood Launceston Steam Railway The Eden Project Tintagel with its legends of King Arthur and the Knights of The Round Table and Boscastle with its fishing trips to name but a few. In the evening stroll along the woodland walk to the bird hide or over the fields or watch the sun set over the sea. Leisure facilities: enjoy a swim in the outdoor heated swimming pool (available from Whitsun May Bank Holiday to the end of September) or have a game of tennis on the tennis court. Farm activities: children will be in their element by feeding the variety of small animals. Games room: with table tennis and air hockey. Small adventure playground. The accommodation offers TWO bedrooms: on the ground floor 1 family bedroom with a double and single bed TV with freeview and en-suite shower and WC and on the first floor there is 1 twin room with en-suite bathroom with shower over whirlpool bath and WC. Lounge/kitchen/diner: large 30 open-plan room with TV DVD hi-fi and sofa bed. Kitchen area with electric cooker microwave fridge/freezer dishwasher and washing maching. Utility room: shared with 2 washing machines and tumble dryer. Outside: enclosed shared courtyard at the back of the property with seating and BBQ and a lawned area can be enjoyed at the front of Mermaid with sea views. Amenities: electric and underfloor heating (when needed) included.

The popular north Cornwall seaside resort of Bude sits at the mouth of the River Neet. Facing the Atlantic Ocean it has two large, sandy, beaches (Summerleaze and Crooklets) which provide for good surfing in the right conditions, as do a number of other beaches nearby, including Widemouth Bay and Sandymouth Bay.
The town has a number of shops, tennis courts, pitch and put and other amusements, and there are a number of points of interest including Bude Canal which runs into the harbour area, and once used to connect Bude with Launceston. The railway station which brought visitors from London on the Atlantic Coast Express is now closed, as with the branch line to the town, so transport facilities today are restricted to car and bus access, but the A39 ‘Atlantic Highway’ makes for easy access to and from other parts of Cornwall.
As well as being a great location itself for a family holiday, Bude is also a good base for exploring the north Cornwall coast, and for paying visits to other great Cornish locations such as Boscastle, Tintagel, and Padstow. With good accommodation available both in the town and in the surrounding villages visitors are sure to find somewhere ideal to stay, especially with the range of choice of cottages and holiday lets in Bude which are provided for search and comparison at Go2.
